Pregnancy update: 18 weeks

Your baby weighs about 5.25 ounces and is 5-1/2 inches long from crown to rump, or about the size of a large pickle. Your baby's digestive system is starting to produce meconium, its first fecal matter. Some new moms are scared at the sight of it in their newborns diapers and think something must be wrong with their baby, but its perfectly normal and will only last a few days after birth.

Let's see, I am definately growing quite a bit and my belly is very noticably pregnant now. The baby is very active and I am loving the bumps that I am finally feeling. They are most noticable when I am laying in bed at night. S/he seems to really like my singing (at least someone does!!). When I am singing in the car I can really feel a lot of moving around. Everyday I think more that this baby is a girl. I really don't care what I have. With one of each there really is no pull one way or the other. After a year of trying and a miscarriage, I am just so happy to be pregnant. I would love a baby boy again because Trey is almost 7. It has been so long since I have had a new baby boy. I would love a girl because Devyn is such a sweet little girl and she really wants a sister. It would be nice to let them share a room and we still have most of her baby clothes. But really - it doesn't matter.

I have my 18 week appointment on Tuesday morning with Dr. Rowe. I am hoping that they will schedule my 20 week ultrasound in the next week or so. I am so anxious to see this baby. We still are positive that we won't be finding out the sex. I think the thrill of not knowing and the anticipation that will lead up to the delivery will be so wonderful. We will know what day I will have the baby since it will be a scheduled c-section, we will see the baby on the 3D ultrasound, let there be a little surprise left in life!!! LOL

My pregnancy is flying by - like fast. I am ready for it to slow down! I want to really savor this pregnancy since it will definately be my last. I have been very anxious to feel strong movements and now that I am, it can slow down!!
