30 week update - YEAH!!!!

This morning I had my 30 week appointment. BP and urine was fine, baby's heart rate was fine, etc.

I am measuring at 31 weeks and I know my due date is exact since I was charting, etc. so it looks like we just have a big baby in the oven. Devyn was almost 8lbs at 9 days early so it's not shocking. I like big chubbed out babies so bring it on! :) It's funny, I still feel kind of small and I was just worrying to Dante last night about the size of the baby and my growth being behind and here the baby measures a week ahead. Go figure!

Good news from the scale. After gaining 8 lbs at my last appointment I was scared to see what this month would look like. The good news - I had actually lost weight. Okay, only 1lb, but still no gain is good in my book!!! So I am now at a total gain of 17 lbs this pregnancy - totally doable.

I also have a tenative c-section date set of November 8th. He is submitting all the paperwork to verify that the O.R. and everything is free. I should have a confirmation at my next appointment. I am also all set to get my tubes tied during my c-section.

I now am going every 2 weeks - exciting stuff, I tell you. I am so chipper today. For one, my hip doesn't hurt for the first day in ages and two, I am only 60 days away from having this baby!!!!

Relief

About a month ago my mom got news that her liver enzymes were elevated. She was sent for tests for Hepatitis B and C and an ultrasound of all her organs. They were concerned that it could be liver cancer. :( Well her blood work for Hep can back clean, of course and her ultrasound showed that her liver and kidneys were fine. It turns out that she has multiple large gallstones and has to have her gall bladder removed. We are all so relieved that it's not cancer.

Thank the Lord. I could not even start to imagine my life without my mother.

So thank you for all the well wishes and prayers, it was a worrisome month. :(

Happy 29 weeks to me

And Happy Birthday to Jack!!!!! I hope you have a wonderful welcoming into the world today sweet baby boy! Good luck Crystal - I will be thinking about you all day. I hope your c-section goes perfect.

We have had a gazillion baby name conversations to date and still are pretty unsure of what this child will be named.

Top names as of now:

Girlie names: It's now between Audrey and Bronwyn, mn will be Genevieve.

Boy names: It's now between Elliott, Ross (Natasha, don't choke, lol - it has been on our list since I was pregnant with Trey) and Bradley. MN will be Louis. I like Jude but Dante hates it, dang it.

Nothing new and exciting to report. I am still dying from sciatica drama. I resorted to bringing a pillow to sit on at work. I hope people don't think I have hemroids! LOL

My tender heart

My Trey. Sigh.

All through Kindy he was very comfortable with his diabetes and Celiac and very matter of a fact about it. He got up and told his class that he has diabetes and showed off his insulin pump and told them why he had it and was very proud.

I asked him this year if the nurse had come in to talk to his class. They like to do this so the kids don't think his pump is a toy and try to press the buttons and also so they will know to watch out for him on the playground, etc. He told me that he really didn't want her to come in this year and his diabetes was very personal to him and he wanted to keep it private. I think he is at that age where he is embarassed about it and doesn't want people to know. Of course that makes my heart break in two because it was never any issue - he never felt different, now he does. Or maybe he felt different before but he didn't care then and now it's affecting him.

I hate that he is different and now he realizes it and it makes him feel bad.

He did meet little Trey (a kindergartener) - the only other diabetic in the school and he is very uninterested in it all. I don't know how to handle it all. Do I go with it? Do I press the issue? How do I reassure him that it's okay to be different? I just don't know.

This is a very hard mommy moment.

Devyn funnies

This kid is so cute, I swear.

The other day I was asking Trey to help her buckle up in her carseat and he jokingly tells her, "Sure but it's going to cost you!" She looks at me all annoyed and says, "Mom can you hand me my wallet, please." (Her wallet was in my purse since we were going shopping.)

Yesterday she told me that she doesn't want to turn five because she really likes her carseat and she is not too fond of the booster seat we have for her.

State law in NM is 5 and 40lbs before they can be in a booster. What is it in your area?

Good Girls!!!!

Buddies, Devyn and Rebekah :)

Little girls are so.....well behaved! Our boys trash the room and get every toy possible out. The girls go in the room and quietly read to each other, play with the doll house, or color. And the put stuff away as they finish! It is so different from boys! LOL

These were taken after they had been swimming. :)

Trey is now 7! *and a rant*

His birthday was on Wednesday. Seven. That sounds so...old to me. Sigh.

I am annoyed with my FIL. He thought buying my 7 year-old a 4-wheeler that goes up to 40mph was a good idea, without even consulting us. Dude, the kid can't even drive his Little Tyke Hummer 5mph with out crashing into the house and giving his sister whip-lash. Seriously, isn't that a gift you would call mom and dad up and say, "Hey, I want to buy Trey a 4-wheeler, is that okay with you guys??" Oh, and a helmet would be a smart thing to include. He now has a 4-wheeler he can't ride until we can afford to go drop $100 on a helmet. It is torturing him.

I am having a really hard time biting my tongue on this one. I know he is just trying to be a nice grandpa and buy him neat boy things but, ugh.

I know, both Dante and I had 3-wheelers at this age but it was really before all the deaths and kids getting paralized were being reported. One 20/20 episode on it and my parents sold ours and had a pool put in the back yard.

It is always something.

He had a great birthday and was spoiled to the hill, just like every other year. I just can't believe I have a 7 and 4 year-old. I am getting old. LOL

It's been a while

I'm not sure what is up with me but I haven't been too much in a journaling kind of mood lately.

Pregnancy:
Wow, I am 3 days away from moving into the double digits. I got my weekly email update on Wednesday and realized I am already in my 26th week, I think I am only a couple weeks away from my 3rd trimester.

I had a brief trip to L&D last Wednesday and was there for monitoring. I was having some pretty painful contractions every 10 minutes or so for a couple days. The doctor checked me and I was nice and high and completely closed. He wanted to hold off giving me the tributaline(sp?) since he said that women with multiple past c-sections tend to have many more intense contractions at this point but they don't generally change the cervix.

Baby names are frustrating me to no end. A girl name is pretty set but boy names are still iffy. I liked Oliver, but Dante choked and gagged when I told him. So for now it's Elliott Louis. I keep bringing names up to Dante and nothing gets a good response these days.

I have brought up recently:
Daylan
Ian
Elliott
Oliver
Micah

If it's a girl, she will be either Audrey Genevieve or Brynn Genevieve. :)

I feel like I am getting pretty big and the baby is moving tons. Have I told you how much I love that?? I still have pelvic ligament pain and heartburn like mad but I can't complain too much.

And FYI - camping while pregnant is never a good idea. We went to the lake and it was fun but the heat and sleeping in a tent are highly over-rated.

A cute Trey saying

He was taking my belly pics last night and he told me, "Oh mommy, look, you are getting birth stretches!" He meant stretch marks, lol.

I thought it was sweet. He is always pushing my belly and saying he can feel the baby. He walks by me and gives my belly a sweet rub and keeps going about his business.

23 Weeks

Nothing too exciting to report from my appointment yesterday. I was in and out in 10 minutes.

Let's see, the basics:

Weight:
I gained 4 lbs for a total of 10 pounds. I am okay with that. Even in I gain 1lb a week for the rest of the pregnancy I will only gain 26lbs or so. Considering I gained 40+ with Trey and 30 with Devyn, I would be thrilled with only gaining 25-30lbs! LOL

BP: 110/68

Baby's heartrate: 145bpm

Fundal Height: right on target

I go in to get my gestational diabetes test done in a couple weeks and hopefully that will turn out okay. :)

She also told me that the u/s results all looked great. :)

I had been having hellish sciatic nerve pain in my hip. I have never had this with my previous pregnancies (thank goodness or I don't know if I'd be doing this again right now) and it was miserable. I finally broke down and went to my chiropractor even though insurance won't cover it and got an adjustment done. It did WONDERS. For one, I was able to lay on my stomach for a few minutes, what pregnant woman doesn't love that opportunity! I still have pain here and there from it but it really did the trick of taking away the constant pain. It upset me that the doctor told me there is nothing you can do about it other than wear a maternity belt, take a bath and some tylenol. How many women just take that and suffer for months? And most chiropractors are pretty good if you call them and tell them your situation with insurance and agree to pay up front. My appointment only ended up being $37, worth every penny.

The baby is so active now! I have had a lot of movement that you can see from the outside now. I love this part of pregnancy and know how much I am going to miss it. I am really trying to relish in every part of this pregnancy.

Names are still up in the air for us, I need to start looking through my books again. We just aren't able to find a boy name that we both love other than Elliott, which Dante is just "okay" on. Maybe I should drop it and when he arrives (if it's a boy!) he'll have no other choice! LOL

I can't believe I am a week away from being 6 months. Crazy! Dante and I were talking on the way to work yesterday about how excited we are for November to come. November has always been a favorite month of mine. As a child it was because it was my birthday month, but as an adult it is the start of the holidays. I love Thanksgiving and getting together with family. This year we will have a new baby to love on. I am so excited to be off work all of November, December, and January. It will be wonderful. I am a freak and actually love being in the hospital having a baby. I love the excitement and anticipation, the visitors, and the feeling of euphoria that a new baby brings to our family. I love taking a gazillion pictures, bonding and staying up all night staring at my baby. I still drive by the hospitals where Trey and Devyn were born and get such a warm fuzzy feeling. I am never eager to get out like some people are. That may be different this time, only because due to RSV season, the kids won't be able to come visit me. It will be hard to be away from them for 3 days. Dante is planning on bringing them to the hospital and I will go to the lobby and have lunch with them. Even thought they won't be able to come see the baby, it will be good to see mommy!

Enough of the rambling....have a good day my friends!

Misconceptions of Diabetes

Diabetes Myths and Misconceptions
By Catherine Marschilok, M.S.N., C.D.E., Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management

We all know a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes is hard on families as they learn to cope with a number of changes in their daily life. While people care, it is all too common for them to ask questions that reflect a lack of knowledge about type 1, such as, “When will she outgrow it?” It can be frustrating to explain the battle that all families face every hour of every day, and that can be compounded by having to deal with people’s common misunderstandings and misperceptions, including the widely-held belief that type 1 diabetes is not a serious disease.

Here are some of those myths:

myth: Taking insulin cures diabetes.

fact: Taking insulin keeps people with type 1 diabetes alive, but does not cure the disease. While progress toward finding a cure has been substantial, there is still no cure for diabetes.myth: Diabetes is caused by obesity, or eating too much sugar.fact: While obesity has been identified as one of the “triggers” for type 2 diabetes, it has no relation to the cause of type 1 diabetes. Scientists do not yet know exactly what causes type 1 diabetes, but they believe that both genetic and environmental factors are involved. Eating too much sugar is not a factor.

myth: With strict adherence to a specific diet and exercise plan, and multiple insulin injections each day based on careful monitoring of blood sugar levels, a person with type 1 diabetes can easily gain tight control over his or her blood sugar levels.

fact: While the above strategy is the most effective way to achieve and maintain tight control of blood sugar levels, optimal blood sugar control can be very difficult for some patients. Many factors, including stress, hormone changes, periods of growth, and illness can easily cause blood sugars to swing out of control. Teenagers, in particular, may be susceptible to this problem, as their bodies go through many changes during adolescence. Also, some people with type 1 find that even though they strive for tight control and follow their meal plan and insulin schedule, they still experience rapid fluctuations in their blood glucose. Those fluctuations do not mean the person with diabetes has done anything wrong.

myth: People with diabetes should never eat sweets.

fact: Limiting sweets will help people with type 1 diabetes keep their blood sugar under control, but, with advice from their doctor or nutritionist, sweets can fit into their meal plan, just as they would for people without diabetes. And there are times when sweets are a must: if the blood sugar level drops too low, sweets (or juice, or soda) can be the surest to raise it, and prevent the onset of hypoglycemia.

myth: People with diabetes can’t engage in athletics.

fact: Physical exercise is important for everyone’s health, and is especially important for people with diabetes. Regular exercise helps lower blood sugar levels and keep them in the target range. There are countless examples of athletes who have had great success, from Olympic Gold Medalist swimmer Gary Hall to baseball great Ron Santo to hockey great Bobby Clarke.

myth: Only kids get type 1 diabetes.

fact: Type 1 diabetes, also known as “juvenile” or “juvenile onset” diabetes, is usually first diagnosed in children, teenagers, or young adults. However, people may develop type 1 diabetes at any age.

myth: Kids don’t get type 2 diabetes.

fact: Though type 2 diabetes is usually diagnosed in adulthood, increased obesity and other factors have led to a recent “epidemic” of this form of diabetes in young adults and children under 10. Still, most children diagnosed with diabetes get type 1.

myth: Women with diabetes shouldn’t get pregnant.

fact: Thanks to advances in diabetes research, the outlook for pregnant women with diabetes is significantly better today than it was a generation ago. However, diabetic pregnancy requires extra effort and commitment, excellent blood sugar control, and education in all areas of diabetes management.

myth: No matter what you do, a person with diabetes for years will eventually get complications.

fact: Complications are not inevitable. The mechanisms that cause complications are not yet fully understood, and the extent to which they develop varies from person to person. Tight blood sugar control is the only method demonstrated to reduce the risk of developing complications, but their occurrence remains unpredictable in any individual. Some individuals with type 1 diabetes may be genetically predisposed to develop complications (one of the critical issues being addressed by JDRF’s research).

I'm tireeeeeed

Who want's to come help me make a billion cupcakes?? Devyn has ballet in the morning so I need to do them tonight when I get home, but I am tireeeeeeeed.

Tomorrow is Trey and Devyn's birthday party. The big 7 and 4. Wow. When did my babies grow up?? We are having a pool party for a few friends and family. I feel so bad that Trey didn't get addresses of his classmates. We were only able to get ahold of 2 kiddos from his school (our neighbors). There will still be enough kids to fill the pool once mine, Natasha, Leona and Maria's kids are in there! We decided to do it in the evening this year because it is so flippin' hot during the day. Good times.

Yesterday I spent all evening searching for "Heelys" for Trey. They are those shoes that have the skate wheel in the heel, aka - arm breakers. I found them after going everywhere in town and once I overdosed on shock, I paid the $80 for them and he will now be one very happy child. It has been the only thing he has asked for in months (besides an IPod) so I figure why not. He is an agile child, not a klutz like me and Devyn so we should be okay. Maria is buying him elbow and knee pads for his birthday and he has a skate boarding helmet so he is all covered. LOL

Devyn is getting a Leapster game system (so I don't have to hear her fighting with Trey to use his) and some big My Little Pony that you can style the hair on. She is such a girlie girl. My parents are awesome and saved all my toys. I recently gave her all my My Little Pony's and Dante is getting out my Cabbage Patch Kids for her this weekend. I think I have about 12 of them. I was a freak and that is all the toys I ever played with and what I asked for for every birthday and Christmas. I have always been a bit obsessive compulsive. LOL

They have been counting sleeps until their party so we are all glad it's finally here. LOL

Dress up with Devyn

TGIF at it's finest

I am so glad the weekend is almost here. Why is it that the short weeks always seem the longest? I am only working 3 days this week and it seems like it's been 5 already. Bizarre.

I am on countdown to maternity leave already, lol, 4 more months, 4 more months....I will have all of November, December, and January off and go back in early February. I am thrilled about having the holidays off with a new baby!

I have baby on the brain all the time so forgive me if I talk about it more than I should. We still haven't talked much about baby names. We were all set on Elliott Louis for a boy until Dante announced that he wasn't crazy about Elliott anymore. So boy names, oy vay, we have no idea. We still like Audrey for a girl but it is still up in the air also. I am still pushing for Brynn but Dante says it's "boring". LOL. We will figure something out soon, I hope. I guess it's time to bust out the baby name books again.

We have also decided that this for sure is our last baby. I will be getting my tubes tied during my c-section. If I didn't have to work, I would push for not doing anything final but I can't imagine being a full time working mom and trying to shuffle the schedules of 4 kids around and pay for daycare. Also Trey is very high needs, medically. He still has to be monitored 24/7 and God forbid, it we have another diabetic child, life will be so choatic and expensive.

Speaking of daycare - My mom has offered to watch this baby for us. We are going to pay her $100/week and she will be watching all 3 kids 3 days a week. We were already paying her a little, mainly to cover food costs. It's actually only $15 less a week than the Montessori we were looking into and we can't claim it on our taxes or use our flex spending account to pay her, but it's my mom - you can't get any better care for your children than your own mother. So I am happy about that. Our car will be paid off in another year or so and then finances will be right back to were they were before. Thank goodness.

I am in a chatty mood today - not sure why, but it's too early to call Natasha or Crystal so here I am. LOL

I am so happy for my friend Rhiannon! I gave her my lucky Clomid that I had and she got pregnant her first cycle on it. We both miscarried around the same time last year and her and her hubs have been TTC for quite a while now. So yay for babies!!!!!

Belly Pictures from last weekend:

These were taken at almost 21 weeks .

I think I have gotten huge.

And this is what I see, lol. I am pleased that I am carrying like I did with Devyn - very up front basketball like. With Trey I carried like a watermellow and just looked fat the whole time.

Trey lost his 4th tooth on the 4th of July so now he is missing both of his top teeth. It looks adorable, of course and he is talking funny. I love it!

I can't believe he will be 7 in less than a month.

He is such an awesome little soul. He has been very involed in the local JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) and has really been enjoying it. We are sponsoring a walking team for the Walk to Cure Diabetes in September and have a goal of raising $2000. He is now writing thank you letters to local companies who donated a total of $90,000 for the JDRF Tee up to Cure Diabetes tournament. Of course I can't type any of this with out bawling. He draws the most adorable pictures of little kids with Insulin pumps and little lines like "Insulin is not a cure" and "Help me and my friends live a life without diabetes". He is my little activist, a natural leader. He is a passionate child in so many ways (good and bad, lol) and I can only hope we are raising him to be strong and dedicated to his passions. "A cure" sounds so ideal and cliche' at the same time, but they are so close, so close. I pray that it happens in his lifetime. I have given up on it happening in Dante's lifetime but there is always a chance.

Yesterday was my due date for the baby we lost in November. It was a sad day but I guess the pain was eased some by the fact that I am pregnant again and seem to be doing okay this time around. I am 21 weeks today and seriously, it is just flying by! It really needs to slow down.

I am starting to watch my nephew, Alex, on Mondays. I am not thrilled about spending my day off babysitting but I know she needs the help and he is one sweet little guy! I told her I would only do it until late October since I am due in November. In December Leona will start watching him full time.

I will update tomorrow with some other fun stuff - I am headed home now!

Much love!

Here are the pictures again, but not as small. Enjoy!!

Ultrasound pictures!

These were done at exactly 19 weeks and the baby was measuring 4 days ahead at 19wk4d. At 6 and 10 weeks the baby was measuring right on date, so I am assuming s/he has had a little growth spurt. I want to have a big 9 pounder! I love chubby newborns, and with a c-section, size doesn't really worry me like it would if I were trying for a VBAC.

Despite my really wanting to find out in moments of weakness, we stayed strong and didn't find out the sex of the baby. S/he was pretty shy and we only got a couple partial face pictures. S/hekept covering up his/her (man, that's exhausting!!) face with his/her arm. Even if we wanted to find out the sex, I don't think we could have, the legs were crossed tightly the entire time.

The kiddos were able to go with us and they loved seeing their baby brother and sister. I love that they are old enough to share in all of the excitement with us.

They printed out about 10 pictures and also burned a bunch to a CD for us. Here are some:

Profile Shot

Little crossed legs

A 3D shot of the face and arm

Trey calls this one "I had a bad day".

A sweet one on the head, cheeks, arm, and hand - I love the cute little ear. :)

It's about time for an update. :)

Last night we had a wicked rain, hail, and thunder storm. In 30 minutes we got over an inch of rain. Considering that is more than Albuquerque has gotten all year long, I was excited. Our entire backyard was standing in water and part of our gravel on the side of the house was in the street this morning. Oh well, I won't complain - it smelt wonderful this morning and my trees are happy. Another bonus - maybe it won't be so freaking dry here on the Forth of July and the little shits that live behind us won't light our roof on fire with their illegal bottle rockets (that they light year round).

Last night the kids and I went to eat with Leona and her 2 sisters. It was such a nice time just hanging out and laughing with a group of women (and our army of children). Her sisters are hilarious and my side hurts this morning from all our giggling. Erica brought her 8 week old, Max, and he is so adorable. I am so glad I am pregnant because I don't think I could withstand that kind of baby fever he gives off. :)

Trey is growing so fast. He lost his 3rd tooth on Saturday and looks like a little jack-o-lantern. He is spending his days in the pool at my parent's house and is all sunkissed. He is such a handsome little guy with his tan and sun-bleached hair. He is so excited for this baby. His cousin Alex is prepping him for a new little one in the house. My mom is watching him one day a week and Trey is loving every minute of it. Last week he kissed him 67 times - yes, he kept track throughout the day. :) We we dropped him off, I heard him say under his breath, "I loooove babies!" He is just so sweet. When we go anywhere and someone has a baby he tells them, I have a baby cousin and he is 5 months old. People look at him like, "great, kid". LOL He is so proud. I am sad that summer vacation is half way over. I have enjoyed him being home and us having a good time together. I don't understand how some parents just can't wait for school to start so they can have some peace (maybe I will reconsider this as he gets older, lol).

Devyn is my big four year old. She is finally going to bed on her own, with no movie, and staying in her room all night! This is huge since for the last 3.5+ years she has been in bed with us at least half of the week. I love watching her blossom into a little girl. She has her little bestfriends that she loves, she enjoys playing dress-up, and playing in the mud. She is such a neat mix of complete girliness and adventure, with definate signs that she has an older brother. She is back in ballet for the summer and it has brought her out of her shy spell in ways that I never imagined possible. She has turned in to such a vibrant, playful soul. She is just awesome and stricking in her personality. Her favorite thing to do is dance. She was asking if we could go to another wedding this weekend, so she could dance. We went to a wedding on Saturday and she was the hit of the dance floor. I am pretty sure she dances better than anyone in our family. LOL She is also anxious to meet the baby. Her baby hog tendencies are kicking in and she smothers any baby she sees with love and kisses. This week she wants a boy, but it bounces back and forth weekly.

I will be back after I resize my u/s pics to post them.

Dr's Appointment: 18wk5d

Weight: +2lbs for a total of 6 lbs gain total
BP: 118/78 (a little high for me)
Heartrate: 152 BPM

I scheduled my appointment for as early as possible so I wouldn't have to wait, since my OB's office tends to fall behind schedule as the day progresses. I was there and 7:15 and I still didn't get seen until after 8:30. I guess he was on call all night and was in a c-section so I guess I forgive him, lol.

It was your normal appointment. I was excited since I only gained 2 lbs for a total gain of 6lbs so far. My bp was fine, urine was fine, baby sounded great, etc. I talked to him about my recent bouts of almost fainting. Twice in the last couple weeks I have almost passed out.

Once was at Cliff's amusement park so I blamed it on the heat, sun, and needing to eat. It happened again on Sunday. I was at the mall with the kids and it hit me. You know, that sweaty, dizzy feeling right before you hit the ground. I hurried to the foot court to get a drink and told the kids to sit down at a table right by me and to watch me. I told them if I passed out to call for help and tell whoever came that I was pregnant. While I was in line their little concerned eyes were GLUED to my back. It was so sweet, but I felt bad for worrying them.Anyway - the doctor said it was completely normal at this time and it usually means I have been on my feet for too long.

Let's see - I declined the screening for Down's Syndrome and whatnot and he gave me the referral for my ultrasound. I called and they had an opening for tomorrow morning, but of course, Dante can't take any time off this week because he is working overtime all week. He is not allowed to work OT and have leave in the same pay period. Boo. So I called back and rescheduled for his day off - Friday. It will work out better because we really want Trey and Devyn to be there and he can bring them with him and head home after.

I am starting to get really weak about not finding out the sex of this sweet baby. When that temptation is placed in front of you it is so hard to say, "no, it's okay, we really don't want to know right now". LOL. Dante is still pretty strong on not finding out so I am hoping he will pull us through. LOL I will have lots of pictures to share on Friday afternoon. The place we are going to does 3D and 4D ultrasounds and allows you to bring in a disc and they will record them for you. :) I remember going there with Natasha when she was pregnant with Cillian and it was so amazing. :)

I am also highly annoyed that Dr.Rowe will be out of the office and/or is booked when I need to go in for my next appointment and I have to see the crappy Nurse practicioner that has ZERO bedside manners. Grrr. I decided I better see her rather than waiting 7 weeks to be seen again, just in case.

I can't believe I am almost halfway there. I had Trey take my belly pictures on Sunday and I will upload them tomorrow. I have grown so much in the last 5 weeks!

Pregnancy update: 18 weeks

Your baby weighs about 5.25 ounces and is 5-1/2 inches long from crown to rump, or about the size of a large pickle. Your baby's digestive system is starting to produce meconium, its first fecal matter. Some new moms are scared at the sight of it in their newborns diapers and think something must be wrong with their baby, but its perfectly normal and will only last a few days after birth.

Let's see, I am definately growing quite a bit and my belly is very noticably pregnant now. The baby is very active and I am loving the bumps that I am finally feeling. They are most noticable when I am laying in bed at night. S/he seems to really like my singing (at least someone does!!). When I am singing in the car I can really feel a lot of moving around. Everyday I think more that this baby is a girl. I really don't care what I have. With one of each there really is no pull one way or the other. After a year of trying and a miscarriage, I am just so happy to be pregnant. I would love a baby boy again because Trey is almost 7. It has been so long since I have had a new baby boy. I would love a girl because Devyn is such a sweet little girl and she really wants a sister. It would be nice to let them share a room and we still have most of her baby clothes. But really - it doesn't matter.

I have my 18 week appointment on Tuesday morning with Dr. Rowe. I am hoping that they will schedule my 20 week ultrasound in the next week or so. I am so anxious to see this baby. We still are positive that we won't be finding out the sex. I think the thrill of not knowing and the anticipation that will lead up to the delivery will be so wonderful. We will know what day I will have the baby since it will be a scheduled c-section, we will see the baby on the 3D ultrasound, let there be a little surprise left in life!!! LOL

My pregnancy is flying by - like fast. I am ready for it to slow down! I want to really savor this pregnancy since it will definately be my last. I have been very anxious to feel strong movements and now that I am, it can slow down!!
